Default Electroniques front end & 1.6MHz IF circuits

I'm looking for circuits and/or data for modules here;

Transistor front end GC166T (or HB166T)

1.6 MHz IF pcb (seems to have a BFO) board copper marked IFA 111

Many thanks

A quick search of this forum reveals some IF data:

And looking at the parent directory of the jpgs mentioned in that thread (www.spamabyss.net/radio/) there are also ....tuner01.jpg to ...tuner06.jpg.

Yes, all scanned from an old (and very comprehensive) Electroniques catalogue I've had for years...

Much appreciated!
I actually tried to photograph a couple of pages from my old catalogue tonight but it was 1964 and the pages were typed. Deliveries were expected in January (probably 1965) with "the price expected to be in the region of 14.0s.0d"

Many thanks for the links. I remember these being advertised in old PWs but a bit before
my construction era, Ambit / Plessey circuitry. The front end has a good build quality,
although the IF looks a bit like a Pye Westminster board.

If you do find an electroniques front-end, there is one small achtung!

It seems that some of them were built with a little screen that should be between two wafers in the band switch. Without it, the RF stage is likely to go unstable. A colleague spent a lot of time and effort getting one he'd bought as a student going.

Hi Gents, these were very good units but seldom appear these days and when they do are expensive.

Looking at mine, each pair of the 6 wafers are separated by a pcb, with a large area
on each acting as a ground screen. The main design issue is that access to the hard
wired boards is impossible without major dismantling. Let's hope it works !
