Default Maka switch wafers wanted

Hi,
I need a couple of 2p5w maka switch wafers if anyone has any lurking in a drawer. I thought I had a suitable switch, but I forgot it's a stereo amp and I need 8 poles altogether.

If the 'Mini Maka Switch' size can be used (I don't know which shaft assembly you have), they're still made. Look here :

I have a boxfull of what looks to be the same wafers as in link in post - 2 Richard, but the ones I have are blue. Some are loose, some in RS boxes, I'll dig them out but finding a 2p5w might take some doing, I presume that's a 2 pole 5 way.

I'll dig them out and take some pics and measurements. Andy.

Hi Richard, it could actually be a 2P, 6W, a more common type.

A pic of what you have would help as RS supplied several types over the years.

Hi Ed, it is probably a 2p6w as you suggest, I need only 4 ways so I put the adjustable stop in position and possibly forgot about the other contacts.
I will find a photo, the switch is on my bench at work so it will be Monday…

Here's a picture of a similar wafer, the wafer diameter is 32mm, the fixing centres are 29.4mm and the ones I have are 2p6w and green. The chaft assembly is similar to RS 327-894.

Hi Richard, I'll see what can be found. I think the green wafers were simply earlier production and there is no difference between green and blue types.

Would a 3P 4W also do ?

Thanks Ed, I may be able to use 3p4w since I need an additional 4 poles, and, as you'll see from the photo, it's a bit tight but there's just enough room behind the front panel for two additional wafers. The input switch goes to the right of the three pots. Design errors have a habit of sneaking up to bite you...

Thanks Tony but those are the smaller ones. The larger wafers are available from RS but not in the contact formation I need.

I do have one of the smaller maka switch assemblies, but I'd need 8 wafers of that and there isn't enough room in the chassis :-(

Here's what I have Richard, see pics. there are more of the mini maka wafers, about 20 of 2P6W and lots of sw units, not what your after though.

I think there are two 2P 6W wafers, see pic, centre top/bottom.

Andy.

Hi Andy,
Bottom right in the first picture is the correct type, I need two of those wafers, but I can't see another in your collection.
I'm assuming the first and last pictures are the same wafers?

Hi Richard,

I've got a few switch components by NSF Ltd.
These are single sided 2P 4W switches with all
contacts on the same side of the wafer. Distance
between fixing centres appears to be about 30mm.

They will need 'dewiring', but if any use to you,
PM me with your address and I will put a couple
in the post to you.

Kind regards
Dave

I have some new wafers, RS 327-771. They are the 32mm diameter green type, labelled "STD WAFER 2-pole 6-way" and are the break-before-make version. (I think the m-b-b version was 327-838)

Any good to you?

I only have one of those Richard, but there is an identical SW on the other side. If of any use drop us a PM with your address.

Andy.
