Default Canadian Viking Radiogram

I have a late 40's or early 50's Viking Radiogram that came from Canada a number of years ago, has the transformer so I can use it on 240v as to the 110v that it is. Has all the paperwork from new etc.

It was playing faultlessly for many years, but has now developed a problem. When the machine has been on for a few mins there is a rumbling sound like thunder coming through the speaker, but when I turn it onto the Radio section it's fine. I presume (although one should never do) that it is a fault on the record player side, deck, wiring, component, valve(s) or whatever. Great machine, with a great sound. I miss playing my old 78RPM's on it, using a 1960's Bush, good machine but the Viking is better.

In short can anyone help me out here as to get it back to its old self ?

I am in Millerston, NR Stepps in Glasgow.

Are you looking for general advice, or a commercial repairer?
