Default Two pre-war TVs advertised for sale

Found not one but two (!) pre-war (1937 and 1938) TVs advertised for sale in the London version of Craig's List. One fully restored and working and both very reasonably priced.

I'll leave it to anyone interested to track them down....

I should add that I have no connection with either vendor or Craig's List.

If it's too good to be true...

There have been numerous scams concerning similar offers reported here a few years ago, so caveat emptor

I only see one, the Cossor. If it's genuine it's a really good price, if.....

That's interesting - it hadn't occurred to me and I didn't know about earlier scams. Thanks Nick.

To save anyone the trouble one is a Cossor 54 in the Antiques section and the other a Marconiphone 704 (?) in the Collectables. The Cossor photos seem to be the same as those on the Radiomuseum site.

Caveat Emptor indeed!

Found it, another serious bargain. This all sounds a bit familiar.

Anyone doing this must be within the restoration community. Others wouldn't have the knowledge or any motivation. It's a worrying state of mind

This appears to be a scam, so I'll close the thread.

The golden rule is not to part with money until you've seen the item.
