Identfication required: Vintage Octal Adapter
Hi. Can someone please identify this octal adapter and what it would be used for? Thanks.

Maybe if the two sockets go to pins 2 and 7 it's to access heater volts?
Otherwise someone will need actually to recognise it!

Have you checked which pins are connected to the two on the top?. Also check if any other pins on the octal end are shorted. Many jukebox and other amps used the speaker plug to short the centre tap of the HT transformer winding to earth to remove the HT to protect the o/p transformer if the speaker plug was removed.

I'd be tempted to unscrew the screws and have a look inside!

Go for it with a continuity buzzer before you bother with opening it up.
It looks pristine. |

It looks identical to some of the oddball sockets I got with a used Digital readout Chinese Tube Tester. The set of adaptor sockets came in a beautiful wood case.
