Default Manchester Swapmeet Saturday 20th Jan 2007

I'll be there - about 10:00, complete with namebadge. Been allowed some pocket money.

Will be great to put a few faces to names (or is it the other way round?)

I intend to be there - maybe not as early as 10:00.

I want to give as much support as possible to more northerly events - even if it is still a three-hour drive away.

Namebadge - I've mislaid the one I did for NVCF last year (with name and avatar). I must make a new one.

Unfortunately I'm going to be Anchored Down in Anchorage* [well Bexhill] after all-which is a bit annoying but it looks like a potential winner.
Good luck to the organising team. Let us know how it all goes. Dave W

You're safe, John - radiogram quota filled now!
Steve P - will be good to see you.
Looks as if a few are going now.

Apart from Dave's WW2 telephone, I haven't promised to take anything else, have I?

What are the times, is it all likely to be over by 1pm? I can't find any details anywhere.

I couldn't either, I asked on the original thread but there was no answer, Mike says he's getting there about 10am so he obviously knows more than you or I.

Not so, John. I just sort of assumed that was when the start was! T'other Mike will know.

John Marshman hasn't logged in here since 30th December. I'm surprised he hasn't popped in to see if there are any queries on the run-up to the event, and to promote it a bit more.

The thought had crossed my mind as well, Paul.
We may be doing the swapping in the car park!

I hope it comes off ok. I was feeling a bit cheesed about not being there as I said earlier plus if I had been "at home" you could all have done a Rammy diversion as back up [and had a laugh at my pile of junk]. It's not far from Sale -my auntie lives down there [we call it the south in Lancs]. Standing by for further reports tomorrow. Dave

Small, but interesting. Chatted to Dave Moll, John Caines and Mike (Telstar). Will probably find that lots of other people on here were there but did not spot them.

Sadly, I hesitated on a nice Ekco clock radio for £12 - next time I saw it, it had gone!

Did get a few interesting books, two of them free from BVWS, though.

There was a very handsome Vega Selena there, but no good to me - it looked perfect and it worked.

We left at about 11:45.

You missed us, Mike!

Had a good day and won a radio! And two scrap Ferguson VCR's from the time when a VCR was a VCR! Oh and three records.

Spent most of my time at the BVWS Stall, sat down and chatting.

Looks like there will be another one later in the year. Had a chat with the Organiser and Mike Barker about it. Sundays are better than Saturdays though.

Cheers,

Steve P and Dilys

Not the bigest of fairs i have been to but saying that i had a good time meeting some people from the forum
and picked up some books one of wich i have been looking for a copy of for some time, and best of all i resisted the temptation to buy any more radios though there where one of two there that tempted me.
and it was resonabely local to me so no 2 hour drive.

PS. I licked the KB telli playing in the corner

I did quite well, on the way in there was a program on Radio 4 about sad people like me in small houses who collect too much and then spend all their money on renting storage...something that is about to happen to me...
