Analogue movement repairs
Does anybody know of someone in the UK who repairs analogue meter movements ?
I have two very large moving iron meters from around 1920 (?) made by Crompton Parkinson which I would like to get repaired. Serial No.s 579699 and 570106 regards, seemos |

Re: Analogue movement repairs
Try The Herts Meter Company 01707 270404. They repaired the meter from an AVO Valve Tester for me.
Apparently they have a retired employee who comes in one day a week to do this sort of work. Graham.

Re: Analogue movement repairs
This reminds me of the time that I bought a bakelite megger at a car boot some years ago. It was difficult to test at the time, so I took a chance on it. Initially I found that the generator windings were open circuit. After three days and a few miles of very fine wire , I had successfully rewound the armature. On test, it still did not work because the opposing winding on the meter movement was found to be open circuit , all that it did was to pin over to max.
It still does not work, but it looks nice on the shelf . Neil Last edited by Station X; 1st Jan 2005 at 7:27 pm. Reason: Import |
