Red face HMV cabinet model identification and advice

Hey everyone - how exciting, this is my first ever post!

I have restored a couple of random phonographs previously but have just been given a free HMV upright cabinet model and I need your help.

Firstly - would you know that model this would be?

There is no serial number under the turntable, however the motor is a G132 along with the original pictorial on the wood next to it.

The soundbox is not original - it has a "Rexophonic" - however the tonearm fits a HMV No 4 that I had laying around

I've attached a photo.

Any thoughts? Once I know the model I can do further research to see how to best bring this baby back to life...

Thanking you in anticipation,

Olga

I have found Ian Calderbank's web site very helpful. There is an email address button for questions at the end of his homepage. From my description he identified a 1929 HMV I used to own.

On many HMV models the needle container lifts out to reveal the model number.

It looks very like a 162 (1926 -29), but the illustration of that in the book shows the lid stay on the other side of the cabinet. If it IS a 162, then it should have a No.4 soundbox, a No.32 motor, and measure 40.5" high, 18.75" wide, and 20" deep. Hope this helps?
