Update to a previous main things still to do:-

1. Test recording - Complete, works well.
2. Retest tape counter - Complete, works well after clean and lubricate.
3. Investigate playback squeak - Seems to have gone away.
4. Investigate Fast Forward wind that struggles when Take Up spool is heavily loaded with tape - Fixed, now working very well.
5. Obtain and fit replacement DIN socket for the external speaker connection - Completed.
6. Repair damaged Perspex top panel - Partially done, still need to use black filler.
7. Repair top lid where front Perspex piece needs refitting - Completed.
8. Repair broken motor fan impeller blades - Completed.

New (to list) added:-

9. Investigate low HT voltage (lower than schematic value) - Not worried about this currently as valve electrode voltages are about right and everything appears to be working well, a job to do when lots of spare time available, so may never get looked at. My best bet is that replacing the Selenium bridge rectifier with silicon rectifier diodes would address.
10. Locate and replace the defective VU meter - Will be extremely dificult to find correct type.

Had forgotten that when it arrived it had the black rubber spool retainers fitted.

Found them tonight, fitted and did a quick test of vertical running, so far looks good.

My previous experience of these type of spool retainers has mainly been on Akai machines where typically the rubber retainers are next to useless for vertical running as the retainers very quickly work loose/fall off, (probably fine when new before the rubber degrades due to age).
