Default Lonnnng time away

Just thought I'd pop my head in and see what's going on.

Lots of things happening. Related to success: I am now the editor of our radio club Bulletin. Attached are a couple of covers.

Also been building over the last twenty years.

Examples:
1948 Popular Science Two Pound Portable
1925 Popular Mechanics 9 Tube Superhet Portable

Hi Bill, I expect you have been too busy with the magazine to be on this forum. The second magazine features a rare set, the Regency TR61, I have one of your "USA" TR1 radios on display. If you have not heard already, I have been supplying parts in to the USA for the British PYE P123BQ which you supplied to John. Good luck with your magazine, how often is it published?

John.

Hi, it's published four time a year.

Oddly enough, I was the guy that sold the Pye radio to him!

Super to see you back Bill, even if only briefly!

I'll bet your Club Bulletin is (nearly) as good as the BVWS Bulletin!

Hey Bill,

You're going to have to add an update for the recent Pye P123BQ article in next bulletin to reflect its final completion thanks to John's kind help!

Ask and ye shall receive!

Pye built these things like tanks. I was very impressed with their build quality.

These Pye sets were made in great numbers here in the UK and often turn up at Car boot sales, what is surprising after cleaning the battery terminals and fitting a set of batteries they usually work and if the set has been left switched to the longwave which on some sets is pre tuned to our radio 4 it will be heard above the noise of all the SMPS and LED lighting.

Thanks Bill---looking forward to the meet this coming saturday. Just read about Steve's collection and offered my help to Don if needed...

John---this one worked slightly, but one electrolytic cap had actually gone leaky so replaced all. Hope you found the time to visit the remaining links to reports.

Hi John, Pye must have been doing something right for them to be working 68 years later. I did not mean it would work perfect, maybe just about loud enough to hear the news. I will Email you later re other links.

John.
