Please forgive my thickness, stroke and dementia! Do plasma tv's have the equivalent of a height control? I'm pestered by teletext dots, it's like going back in history, ta anyone.

Hi Tony,
Many modern TV sets have a service mode used with the remote control, if you post the make and model number someone may know how to access or even if it’s possible.

Look at the menu for screen, aspect ratio. There's always an option called "Overscan" or something similar. When switched on it zooms in a few percent and gets rid of the problem.
Hope this helps.

Sorry my post was a bit vague, yes, overscan is the function I want. Plus I've worked out the problem, only occurs if I'm using the DVD recorder. Zoom cuts too much of the picture out but overscan would do it. I used to love problems like this, but now I'm at your kind solutions mercy. Thanks all, Tony Walker.

No problems Tony, us northerner's need to stick together! If you ever need an extra pair of hands I'm only twenty minutes away.

It was often asked, if there was a connection between GranadaTV Rentals where I worked, and Granada Studios, and the answer was yes ME!
I supplied and maintained all the domestic TV sets and VHS machines on the Quay Street site. Occasionally these were used in a technical role, and I might be asked to adjust the height & width to UNDERscan the CRT so the whole frame can be seen including anything in the VBI. Studio monitors were often adjusted this way.
