Anyone recognise this receiver?
Hello folks,
Does anyone recognise or know anything about the attached receiver? Came into my possession recently, must weigh in at 10-15 kg, front plate is about 40 x 25 cm in size. Has a hatch on the top presumably for quick access to the innards. Let me know if you need to see clearer photos. All markings are in English so I suspect it must be of British, Commonwealth or US origin. Other than that I'm clueless! PQ |

Its an Eddystone 358 or variant. Lots of information on www.eddystoneusergroup.org.uk

Re: Anyone recognise this receiver?
Fantastic, thanks very much. I was stumped as there's no manufacturer's name anywhere on the unit.

Re: Anyone recognise this receiver?
A classic set, bandchanging is by changing chunky plug-in tuning coil assemblies through the top hatch- did it come with any of these? Also, HT and LT power supplies come from an external power pack- having this would certainly be a boon, but it would not be too difficult to replicate.

Re: Anyone recognise this receiver?
If the tuning scale goes up to 32 Mhz then it's a 358X, some 358X's also had a noise limiter fitted, the control for that was below the selectivity control knob on the same vertical axis, I have one of those with the noise limiter fitted.
