National HRO-7
Hi Everyone
Does anyone know where I can get a manual for a National HRO-7 I'm not sure, but I think it is quite different from the older HRO receivers Any help would be appreciated Regards Bill |

Re: National HRO-7 Manual
Hi All
I went to the site and downloaded a manual for the HRO-7 thanks for that. I have not got hold of the HRO-7 as yet it is residing at the moment at my daughters house in France and I will not be picking it up until Christmas time, but what I do need for it is a 5 pin plug so that I can connect it to a loudspeaker, it looks like a UX5 style and spacing so another avenue is to get hold of a dud 807 valve, knock all the glass etc. off and go from there, BUT as I said, it looks like an 807 UX5 base fitted but it maybe something completely different, so if anyone has a dud 807 let me know. The other thing about this radio is, it came without any coil packs, but, I have loads of HRO-5 coils, looking at the manual, they look very similar. My question is, has anyone any knowledge about coil pack swapping between HRO-5 and the HRO-7. Regards Bill |

Re: National HRO-7 Manual
Quote:
The section 'Restoring and Aligning HRO Coil Sets' refers largely to pre-1947 models and includes the statement "...More than once, I've found coil panels where the grab handles were sawn off so the coil set could be used in an HRO-7 or later receiver." It seems that the HRO-7 was simply a standard HRO with slight makeovers i.e. "....however, the HRO-7 circuit remained basically the same as the early HRO-5TA1. There were some tube changes and a tube addition with the local oscillator changed to a miniature tube (6C4) and an added voltage regulator (0A2) but the HRO-7 was really not much more than a cosmetic upgrade." So - you may be in luck. Try it and see but you may need a hacksaw. - Peter |
