Re: Pye PCR HT voltage?
I assume by your last post that the transformer deteriorated further?

Re: Pye PCR HT voltage?
A new smoothing capacitor was fitted and the voltage came up to 215v so I reconnected the receiver and it worked for about 5mins then...... Lots of foul smoke and melted windings!
Now I am looking for a replacement transformer

Re: Pye PCR HT voltage?
Hi, if you fail to find an equivalent transformer and originality is important then the cremated one can probably be rewound.

Re: Pye PCR HT voltage?
Does anyone have the type numbers for the selenium diodes used in the PCR PSUs? I'd also be interested in typical values of forward and reverse resistance for the diodes, using an AVO8 or similar meter.

Re: Pye PCR HT voltage?
Sorry for the long time in updating the progression of the pcr, an alternative transformer has been found, but due to unforseen family problems it has not yet been fitted , but the light is visible at the end of the tunnel and I should be able to fit and test soon...... I hope. Thank you all again for your help
