"The Sound Magnet" audio recorder
Hello,
"The Sound Magnet" audio recorder Does anyone have service data or any general information on this early tape recorder (at least I think it's a 1/4" magnetic tape recorder)? It was made by General Lamination Products Ltd, of Bexleyheath, Kent - around the early 1950s (Octal valves). I've never heard of this manufacturer. Many thanks, Dazzlevision |

Re: "The Sound Magnet" audio recorder
Hello,
Here is a picture. I've also placed a picture of a Baird TR1 (circa 1957). Any idea on who made the tape deck (note that it has a 15ips speed setting)? Many thanks, Dazzlevision |

Re: "The Sound Magnet" audio recorder
The Baird is a Collaro tape deck, basically a Collaro with a Baird amp. The second machine has a strong resemblance to the Ace recorder, designed for film use, I have one and love these machines, I will dig out some more info shortly.
