Grundig TK140 Deluxe problems
Hi all,
I recently bought a Grundig TK140 deluxe and it arrived not working. I would love to get this working again because it is in really nice cosmetic condition. The symptoms are: I switch it on and it all lights up, but there is a high pitched sound that comes in and out like it is riding on a sine wave. After a minute or so it becomes quiet which is fine, but then can start up again making this sound. The main issue is none of the controls work. No matter which control I select, nothing happens apart from if I select rewind I get this loud sort of hum which reminds me of a motor that is stuck or something. Does anyone have any experience of these old decks? Thanks. |

Re: Grundig TK140 Deluxe problems
The last one of these I saw with no-go symptoms had a seized motor. You will need to clean and relubricate it, especially the bottom bearing. Be very careful which screws you remove - search the forum as this has been discussed I am sure. HTH
