After all you've done to this, I guess that tidgy Celestion 6" x 4" is just a temporary fix.
I'm sure you can easily locate as a compromise, a 6.5" round unit - and eventally, a well deserved 10" x 6". These can regularly be found online or maybe even from a Member here?

Some of these sets had an X79 frequency changer, so no need to change the base to use an ECH81.
