Re: bush sb3
There is some guidance here, Barry: https://www.vintage-radio.com/repair...e-cabinet.html
If you use the 'search' box at the top of the page, you may find some useful posts that describe how others approach cabinet restoration. Some prefer to strip the old finish and apply a new one, whereas others prefer to leave alone as much as possible. There's a lot of opportunity for learning (and, unfortunately, for messing it up)! For example, there are threads about removing old finishes using chemical stripping (https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=15251) and scraping (https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=45457), and I've just re-discovered a thread to which I contributed back in 2013 (https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=91998). So there's lots of knowledge and experience scattered around, if you can find it! One note of caution: Bush SB3's aren't terribly common – are you sure you want to begin with this set? |
