Info on this tx? (RN Outfit 691).
Can anyone tell me what this is from or where they were used?

Re: Info on this tx
The ID plate begins APxxxx, which shouts Admiralty Pattern to me, so something naval.

Re: Info on this tx
Something Royal Navy, if the "AP" number is anything to go by? Is that "Drawer" on the label? If so, it might be a rack-mount section of a bigger TX. "AM/FM" suggests VHF?

Re: Info on this tx
Thanks guys. I thought navy too but there I stopped. It's interesting that it has no formal ID on it, so I agree it suggests it's a component part. Good suggestion that. Thanks

I am not sure what kind of "formal ID" you are expecting? Surely AP67905 (or AP67908?) is the formal ID? A search on the Collingwood website might well turn up more about it. (Yes, I agree that can be hard work! ) Richard |

Re: Info on this tx
Richard,
well yes you are correct of course, but what I MEANT was something like a plate saying "Marconi T1154" or " Oceanspan Mk2" or even perhaps "WS19 Mk3". or something like that.

Re: Info on this tx
Hi David,
That is the Tx/Rx part of Outfit 691, a 10 channel UHF transceiver, 10W output. There would be a second drawer which is the PSU. More details under "Transceivers - outfit 691" on the Collingwood web site. cheers http://www.rnmuseumradarandcommunica...%20691/691.htm
