Default Cheap coil formers

In a sewing supply store I found these hard plastic spools; they are intended for winding thread for sewing machines but make great formers for scramble winding medium or longwave coils, homemade IF transformers or HF chokes. The central hole is a tight 1/4 inch but can be drilled out to slip on a 1/4 OD ferrite rod.
