Default New Test Card DVD to Download

Hi all.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but here goes anyway...

I've put together a test card DVD which is small enough to download. I've put it together in a bit of a strange way and I'd be pleased to hear of people's experiences regarding compatibility etc. It's only version 0.1 so I may end up modifying and writing the images a different way if it proves not to be very compatible, although this may make it much bigger and probably not downloadable. Please excuse any poor asthetic or technical design - I'm not much of a design person, but hopefully it should work anyway and I'm happy to listen to people's advice or criticism etc.

It has on it test cards C,D,F,J and a few other odds and ends. It can be downloaded as an ISO image from here:

http://www.oldtechnology.net/misc/MD...d_DVD_V0.1.iso

I've tried it in a couple of DVD platyers and it's worked okay. You select the test card you want and then that will stay on the screen until you select "Root Menu". If the image has been on the screen for a while, the DVD may have spun down so it may take a few seconds for the root menu to reappear, but this way it saves the laser if you have the patterns playing for a long time.

Thanks everyone.

Kind regards.

From Mike.

Works great on LG BluRay player. Great job of DVD Menu editing!

The 1st Colour testcard looks a bit dirty though.

Probably something I am doing wrong. I tried to screen grab the experimental colour card and although I grab the entire card only half of it is pasted onto the clip board. I tried both MSPaint and Irfanview.

Hi,
I have just got around to downloading/burning this too, superb test cards and additional bits, I too became a bit nostalgic when I saw the cross-hatch pattern!

Just one thing, should there be any sound? there is an audio file showing on the extracted disc but I have no sound, this could well be the way that I have extracted and burned the disc though

Regards
Andrew

Just downloaded it and thought I'd try playing it on my laptop using DaemonTools Lite and Media Player classic, the former recognises it, Windows opens it as a DVD, but MPC says incompatible region and/or codecs...

Probably just my computer, I'll burn it off later and give it a whirl in a DVD player...

What a great idea. Sorry for the numpty question but I'm struggling to get this format of file to run - whats the best way of burning the file onto a DVD? Thanks!

ISO files are disk images. I use a program called Imgburn to burn ISO files to CD/DVD http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

Thanks everyone for the replies and kind comments. I'm glad it seems fairly compatible with various DVDs as I was a bit worried it wouldn't be.

Thanks again all.

Kind regards.

From Mike.
