Haven't tried 198 but radio 5 on 693 is right down. I think it comes from Droitwich as well, so maybe there's an aerial problem?

Cheers

Maybe they've had some storm damage, though it hasn't been all that windy. I'm pretty sure R4 and R5 use different masts, so if they're both off that suggests a power problem. Droitwich used to have big standby generators, but I don't know how robust the arrangements are nowadays, and of course it's usually unmanned now.

There was nothing on my DAC90A when I switched it on to catch the end of Saturday Live, whatever time that would have been.

BBC R4 on 198 LW from Droitwich was faulty overnight Friday into Saturday. It sounded very distorted. The fault was cleared by late Saturday Morning.

My guess its a programme feed problem rather than a main transmitter fault as every time there is power disruptions in the west Midlands area due to stormy weather the site seems to switch by default to this faulty programme feed which then requires resetting by Arqiva either manually or remotely.

No, that was this morning (Monday), they broadcast a backup programme but here in South London the DAB broadcast dropped out at about the same time, only on R4 and R4 FM was working fine. Eventually the DAB came back and a while later the normal programme resumed.

That is a problem with "today" in the title and "Today" as the programme title.
