!00 watt (nominal) MES lamp!!!
My eye sight is not what it was and so I asked my wife to read the lettering on an MES lamp I had found loose in a box so that I could put it away in the correct bag.
She assured me that it said "6.5 volt 15 amp," bless her. |

I am almost at the point where a set of jeweller's loupes needs to be in my pocket at all times. Hands-Free device but the gurning required to hold it in the eye socket takes a bit of practice!

Re: !00 watt (nominal) MES lamp!!!
Indeed, almost certainly 0.15 amp badly printed or misread as 15 amp.
BTW, E10 lamps are available up to at least 100 watts, though very uncommon. 28 volt, 75 watt E10 lamps are relatively common, and 100 volt 100 watt versions certainly used to exist and probably still do, but were never common. Japanese presumably as they are the only major country with 100 volt mains. |

Yes, I think that was her excuse.
I'm hoping my site will remain good enough for me to enjoy my hobby for a few more years yet. |

Re: !00 watt (nominal) MES lamp!!!
My close-in vision has gone right down the nick in recent years, and my focus is very slow to change from near to distant. I routinely have to use a wee magnifier to read component numbers now! Gah, I thought it would never happen to me! I used to be able to read a bus number before most people could see the bus!
