Yes David, you're quite right bout the HT being incorrectly labelled in the manual.

Very early on the Ia meter was wired to actually be in the anode not as shown in the circuit.

The top and wiper of the mod level control are also shown swapped over.

There were also other minor mods around the oscillator, a tap in the output inductor switched with the band change, and changes around the Rx-Net-Tx switch to give a better netting signal. I think most of them plus some other unofficial mods are in the G3UPA link above and written by Dave Gordon-Smith, G3UUR

This isn't a thread about the AT5 transmitter, but if anyone wants it I can email them my AT5 article that was published in PW some years ago. There's loads on the web about this tx so anyone wanting to build their own or fix one should have plenty of information.

Hi i have an AT5 in good condition would love pw article i must use this rig more as we have lots of time at the moment. I to had another years agow that i converted to a lower frequency (1133 khz) and xtal controled Mick

Hi yes it was ,it was also used in the mid 70s in
London as Radio kaleidoscope, many of the djs went on to ilr stations etc Pat Edison Radio Caroline, Mike Baker Beacon Radio , Dave Owen Radio Jacky,
