Default Dunfermline auction AVOs and radios

Just had this passed to me.

(A quick look shows a number of AVOs, a couple of hackers, Roberts and some 50's 60's valve sets, oh and a Chinon turntable.)

"Art Deco" Ferguson (from the 1960s??) and Chinon "Audio Reflex" turntable

Seriously though, some nice, basic stuff there.

Not too bad the way they've listed things, but I had to chuckle at the Henry Hoover and Dyson Hoover - none of this 'vacuum cleaner' nonsense for these Scots here, thank you very much! Everyone knows they're 'Hoovers'!

I just thought it might be of interest to anyone in this area who didn't fancy an 800 mile roundtrip to where auctions are more common. The 'reflex turntable' had me wondering, but I think it's a halfway decent Japanese job and not being one of the big names might be at a good price.

I think it's always well worth posting about sales such as this for that very reason given.

Audio Reflex is their misreading of Auto Return.

I think Chinon were more well known for film and cine gear, possibly a Dixons house brand?

The turntable is no doubt a budget hifi job, but nothing wrong with that if you just want to enjoy some records/

I saw one of the original BayGen Freeplay radios listed as a 'tyre compressor' at an auction this week

"Auto reflex" seems to be part of the model name and included on the badge at the front of the plinth, so it's Chinon's 'interpretation' of auto-return rather than the auctioneer's

Yes , this is very local to me 10 mins up the road , they often have interesting items going through and I often attend in person. Be aware that the prices often go high as the auction house also runs them through easylive auction & the sale room.

Don't forget to add the buyers commission of 21% and VAT on top of that.

Regards
