If anyone remembers the 'Festival of Britain' they had a huge glass sphere just inside the entrance that glowed blue when you touched it.

Radios did not play a large part in the filter room work - most communications were over land-lines (at least from radar masts to the filter room). None the less the units make a nice talking point during tours of the building. There are some photos of the kit I have at Bunker Link. |

That's certainly an extensive bunker with a very nice collection of exhibits. Thanks for posting.

Although TNMOC is closed for the duration, they have set up an excellent (and free) online "virtual tour" here:
https://www.tnmoc.org/3d-virtual-tour In normal times many of the exhibits are actually working, in pleasant contrast to many other museums these days. |

Reading Museum has a large display of the first 1971 Reading festival, not too off the forum, lots of microphones and amplifiers. Went there today by train, a good exhibit. I was 11 then!

This morning I went to the Man Carrying Centrifuge in Farnborough https://farnboroughcentrifuge.org.uk/ , a booked tour that took 2 1/2 hours, it flew by. I do admit getting quite soggy riding the motorcycle there and back, well worth it.

I stumbled across this whilst checking travel arrangements to Dulwich for the Garden Party:
http://theclockworks.org/museum It's less than a mile from Gerry's house, I don't think it's been mentioned here before. SR |

I live 5 minutes walk away around the corner and have donated a few things. I am trying to convince them to let me get a few sets going so they can be demonstrated, but no luck so far! |

Came across this by chance. It's not exactly central but if you are in the area might be worth a visit.

Here's another Amberley Museum, West Sussex. I'm going for the first time on Friday. They apparently have a Radio and TV section which has been highly recommended.

I was able to visit and attend a presentation yesterday with the Cambridge Wireless Group on the History of Pye
Well worth it, and for me being local and ex-Pye, long overdue There is currently a special exhibition on loan related to 100 years of the BBC as well. One attendee gave a plug for BVWS Free parking in the nearby Tesco for 3 hours Check for the normal opening which I think is Sat/Sun, link below Fred Quote:

There is a temporary exhibition "BBC 100 in Wales" at the National Museum Cardiff until 16th April.
https://museum.wales/cardiff/whatson...-100-in-Wales/ I am planning on visiting in the next couple of weeks and will offer photos for inclusion in the BVWS Bulletin. |

I've just visited the Beeb 100 exhibition that Paul mentioned. Fairly small, but very well done. Hardware highlights include an Ekco SH25, McMichael Motor-tuned Nine, McMichael Rotorbar set, 3 early sets including a Marconi V2, and a Defiant telly. Jerry
