Whenever I've split potted items (curiosity) its been vero or tagstrip inside!!!

Fascinating, apart from the actual content I immediately recognised the name of the sound recordist, Alan Tutchings; he used to regularly provide articles for the now long-gone "Tape Recorder" magazine.
Then near the end the film a resume of the 'state-of-the -art' by Professor GWA Dummer. I have a couple of books by him, the only one I could immediately find was 'Miniature & microminiature electronics', by which time the transistor had appeared & made miniaturisation so much easier.

Then of course from an historical point of view, the very mention of TRE brings back days of my youth, when I purchased (too much) ex-WD gear. Sometimes if I was lucky enough, I would buy a brand-new still sealed-in-box item, which would have a typewritten manual, published by TRE Malvern, with the word "RESTRICED" on the front page!

Also mentioned in the film, was Elliot Automation. When I moved from domestic TV servicing into broadcast engineering, we still used Elliot 'Minilog' potted circuit blocks in SPG's & associated equipment. Philips also used their own version of these in SPG's subcarrier generators etc. The nice thing about those, was that I could successfully break them open, & repair a whole flip-flop! They were potted into plastic boxes of various colours, which also identified in part, the function of the circuit block. Some even had AC128's in them..

What a lot of memories stirred up by a short film.
