The 2023 Newbury radio rally is next Sunday, June 25th.
Lots of sellers in a big field, usually well-attended, and a useful source of bits and pieces... Details here: https://www.nadars.org.uk/rally.asp Weather forecast here: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather...ast/gcph3vm8s# |

I might well attend, just to have a walk around and chat to some familiar faces.

It's usually a good rally; focussed very much on amateur radio so don't expect many Bakelite round Eckos or brown-wooden-radios.
My Eddystone 840A came from there, as did the big Redifon GR410/C14 ATU I use on 160/80/60/40M. There's also usually a guy selling rather well-constructed galvanised T- and K-brackets, a pair of which I have here supporting a 20 foot pole as my 'easy up and easy down' experimental antenna-support. Last year I scored a KW-Match SWR-meter and Pye Tulip microphone for a pittance, both of which have featured in Forum threads. Whether I attend depends on the weather; I'll need to leave Dog in the car, and even with his 200CFM battery-powered cooling fans I don't want him to overheat!

Dogs are allowed, so you can walk him about on a lead, we'll have ours with us and our son. I just need a good day out away from DIY.

I'm a bit sunburnt, but that was a fantastic day. Very restrained, I only bought one small item, then enjoyed the rest of the day chatting to familiar and friendly faces throughout the rest of the day.

Oh... I was there, but if you came to my stall, I didn't recognise you. (My apologies, if that's the case). I did see George GMB, but I think that was the only person I identified from this message board.
Lovely weather, I am very sunburned and managed to avoid buying anything. Got a bit lost trying to follow diversions around the closed section of the A34 Northbound on the way home... Last edited by m0cemdave; 25th Jun 2023 at 8:37 pm. |

As I knew you had a stall, I did look out for you at a stall but didn't see you.

A good day out for all. Despite a gazebo over our stall, I certainly managed to add to my tan! Lots sold and lots of friendly faces dropping by to say hi.
