And the same bit does transmit, marvellous. Don't forget the single valve radio control stuff from the 50's, valve receiver in a model aircraft.
Yes - and also the WWII WS19 "B"-set which used a single-valve switched to operate either as a 225MHz super-regen or as a power-oscillator for transmit (with the 6V6 intercom-amplifier providing modulation).

1930s Amateur Radio Handbooks (from the RSGB and ARRL) have quite a few circuits for super-regen receivers dating from the epoch when amateurs had frequency-allocations at 56- and 112MHz. Some of these were interesting, making use of concentric tuned-lines (for higher 'Q') rather than coils - often nicknamed 'Organ-pipes' for obvious reasons.

There was a similar thread in 2018. See https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=142752

A Google search for "Ataka Super-regenerative" brought up the bibliography for Whitehead's book at Google books. It includes references to a couple of articles in the Sept 1948 issue of the U.S. magazine "Electronics", which you can find at americanradiohistory.com
