Default Ferranti model 1737 radio

I wonder if anyone has a pic of a model 1737 Ferranti radio from 1937.
I saw one for sale at the w/e but did not have my camera with me.
The only unusual feature I can recall is the coloured discs in a little window changing as one changed wave bands.
Not many of these in Australia so I have no idea what price one should pay.

Hello Peter,

I've got only a fair quality black and white image of the set with a brief description and the original purchase price. Hope it proves useful until you can come across something better.

Regards

Hi Peter
these are nice radios. If I remember right, top of the Ferranti range at that time and amongst the best radios they made.
They have 'magnascopic tuning', selectivity control, magic eye and a PX4 output. They are supposed to sound good but can't vouch for that.
It's not a common radio. My own was bought from Germany and in my eyes is a bit special because it has evidence of being confiscated by the Nazis during the occupation of Jersey.
One was sold on ebay recently (ironically to someone in Germany). I think it went for a bit more than £100 but had been refinished and the speaker cloth and some of the knobs weren't original. The one in the pic is my own and again, some of the knobs aren't original.
Regards
Trevor

Many thanks Robert and Trevor. Yes! That's the radio - a beauty as you say. With the band bass circuit I guess it is quite a sensitive set. The variable coupling on the 1st IF transformer is unusual.
The only downside is it's big!
