What are these components ?
I have many parts to identify Some may be made for a special application. Here are first 5.
2 pole shorting plug ? HV capacitor ? measures 1300pf ? measures OC, 0pf, no L CV part is marked AEI I have three unused measure OC both ways. Blue part with one unopened in pack. ?? marked 90sl 007 A03 AB 8049 John.

Re: What are these components ?
I believe the CV10125 is a Zener diode, equivalent to a MR2A.

Re: What are these components ?
Picture 1 does look like a shorting link but what from is another question. Picture 2 is a high voltage capacitor possibly 8Kv and was commonly used in black and white portable tv sets, it went from the crt final anode to chassis. Picture 3 looks like a coil former. Picture 4 is a transistor that appears to be configured as a diode. Picture 4 is some sort of thick film resistor, perhaps for a Thorn ctv or varient of.

Re: What are these components ?
That type of shorting link was used on line transmission equipment in Post Office Telephones repeater stations.

Re: What are these components ?
That blue part has TFR written on the bag.
It also looks like it could be a thick film resistor. 2 looks like a flyback capacitor out of a hybrid telly. I generally agree with post#4. |

Re: What are these components ?
Yes the 4-pin brown thing is a 1970s Post-Office/BT speech-grade-line strap. Thankfully I never had much[*] to do with speech-only circuits - the EPS8/EPS25 line-plugs with sockets for testgear were more my scene.

Re: What are these components ?
Thanks Guys,
"1" Looks like the bag of 4 pin plugs are landfill unless anyone can make use of them. "2" HV cap for TVs. "3" Coil former, I now realise the groove is to enable a second or more layers to be made without rooting wire over top of coil to make the final connection. "4" The AEI CV diodes are useless OC and don't seem to have been used. "5" Thick Film Resistor possibly for Thorn CTV. Might as well close this thread, I have more items to identify another day. John.

Re: What are these components ?
Also used on data equipment installed on bank terminals in the late 70's where the bank had a data link to head office. The interface consisted of a terminal box ,with a removable cover, with a plug as per photo 1. This plug had two positions. IN normal position ,the (from memory ) 4 wire line was connected to the data terminal. In the test position, the link looped the receive and send pairs to allow a test by Repeater station staff to determine the loop loss. Takes me back a lot of years to my days of trying to get bank staff to do a remote test.
