Obtaining Service Information for Vintage Communications Equipment
Many manuals can be downloaded free from the internet. Locate them by using your favourite search engine. As well as the make and model of your set use keywords such as Diagram, Schematic, Circuit, Manual, Service Manual, Operator's Manual, Boatanchor etc.
The most comphrensive site with loads of free stuff is The Boatanchor Manual Archive located at:- http://bama.sbc.edu/. This site is mirrored at:- http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/. Be sure to check the KG7BZ subsection if you're looking for Military Manuals. There are some manuals available for free download on The Vintage Military and Amateur Radio Society website:- http://www.vmarsmanuals.co.uk/ For British Military Radio Equipment it's worth consulting the "Wireless For The Warrior" series of books. Further information on this website :- http://home.wxs.nl/~meuls003/home.html Before buying a manual it's worth posting in the Vintage Communications section of this forum. Someone may have what you need or know where you can download it. Manuals can be bought from the following dealers. Be aware that some dealers, particularly on eBay, sell manuals which can be downloaded free of charge. Shoping At Home (sic):- http://www.shopingathome.com/Military%20Wireless.htm Milradio:- http://www.milradio.com/ Mauritron Technical Services:- http://www.mauritron.plus.com/index.html Please report any dead or incorrect links via a Personal Message to me.
