Can I just give a brief mention to a programme called 'Thomas Edisons Attic'.
WFMU is a music station specialising in music from late 1800's cylinders up to 1930's discs which has now closed down but the programmes are still available online. I don't know how long for. Sounds terrific coming from any early radio set. http://wfmu.org/playlists/TE |

As they say, archives are in RealAudio: I'm using RealPlayer, but I seem to recall there are alternatives with better reputations. BTW, WFMU itself hasn't closed down: it's just this particular fortnightly show that has ended. Another vintage recordings programme which used to alternate with it is ongoing: http://wfmu.org/playlists/AP .
