I think this is my first post in the 'Forum Collection Service' section, and it's a big ask.
After starting a thread about motor tuned radios, Mark (The General) has offered me an Ekco PB289. This is exactly the sort of radio I was looking for (pre-war, motor tuning unit), however I'm in Edinburgh and Mark is in Milton Keynes (although he sometimes makes trips to Chesterfield). Trusting it to a courier is the same as asking for it to be destroyed, so that option is out. I did look into coaches / trains but I think it will be too large when safely packed up to fit into their luggage allowances. This is a fairly large radio - Radio Museum.org suggests 612 x 375 x 300 mm / 24.1 x 14.8 x 11.8 inch. Can anyone help me out? Many thanks! Andrew |
