Default Bush TR82C Dial

The perspex or plastic of the dial or tuning knob on my TR82C set is cloudy. From reading this forum this is due to the action over time of UV light.
Am I right in thinking that this cannot be rectified and replacement the only solution or is there a material that could be applied to render the dial knob clear and transparent?

You may improve it by rubbing down with T-Cut or Brasso, but you're right, it'll never be perfect.
