Philips D7254 not going off
Hello.
I have Philips D 7254 radio. https://www.doctsf.com/grandlivre/fiche.php?ref=31586 After turning it off it starts to make electrical noise heavily and power light stays on. Check the video. I dismantled it, at first sight nothing wrong, and I cleaned the potentiometers for volume and tone with isopropanol. What to do? Best regards, G VIDEO: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ck...R8Biuim7eO3T2N Last edited by grundig1; 25th Sep 2019 at 3:01 pm. |

When you turn the radio off it puts the set into tape playback mode. Check the record playback switch, possibly dirty and requires cleaning, put a cassette in and press the record button a few times it may clean it. Some cleaners may damage the switch.
Lots of other possibilities but that’s an easy one to try.

Just an observation....the switch layout drawing for SK102 on the schematic page is numbered wrong...pin 8 should be pin 6 and pin 2 should be pin 12.

Re: Philips D7254 not going off
The power light staying on when everything is off points to switch SK1, make sure the connection tags at the switch haven't shorted out and check the switch contacts, they should be open in the radio off position with no cassette deck functions selected, you can see the switch on the far right in the middle photo of the three smaller photo's in the link you posted.
