Re: Sony BMC-100P Door Screw
Measure the screw and then try searching ebay for:
sony screw You may find something that is similar if not identical, but you will need to know the size first. Good luck! |

Re: Sony BMC-100P Door Screw
They look an awful lot like screws used in laptop computers!! Could give that a try if you have any lying about.

Re: Sony BMC-100P Door Screw
Do you have one which you could post a picture of?
I suspect lots of top-loading domestic videos used similar screws, and we might have some in our scrap boxes if we knew the dimensions etc. N. |

Re: Sony BMC-100P Door Screw
Is the head type important? I imagine it would be a standard metric thread, or possibly a self tapper.

ISTR these are sometimes non-magnetic specials. Or did I imagine that?!

Re: Sony BMC-100P Door Screw
I seem to recall reading that, while Japan does indeed use ISO Metric screw threads, the JIS specifies a different countersink angle from the ISO countersink used in Europe. The American McMaster-Carr catalogue used to list both types.

Re: Sony BMC-100P Door Screw
Thanks very much at all!
The screw is completed missing. But in the service manual of the BMC-100 i think to find in the mechanism exlpode, the part number and the misure. Thanks again! Libra |

Re: Sony BMC-100P Door Screw
Just checked and JIS countersunk head screws have the same countersink angle as the ISO, but the head is wider.
