I would be fascinated to know what the black cased device in the middle of the the first picture is. Also what looks like a heavily modified RA17 with what looks like some form of isb adapter in the rack beneath in picture two . Could any of the lucky participants enlighten me?

I think the grey rack-mounting item in the first picture is a Royal Navy VLF receiver type CJD, a 5-band Cold War era set with thermionic front-end and otherwise transistorised, a plug-in Veeder-style synthesiser could be fitted into the front panel to supplement the rotating-roller CR100-style tuning scale.
