Park Air PAE 5100 Frequency Selection
Hi all,
Can anyone help with the calculation / settings for the five hex switches to set a particular freq on a PAE 5100 air-band Rx please? Thanks, Martin G4NCE |

Re: Park Air PAE 5100 Frequency Selection
I used to work for Park Air but retired 5 years ago.
I was the sole person repairing them in the factory as customer services enginer. Even I couldn't get any information after I left. As soon as you leave, that is it. The support was discontinued soon after I left anyway. So it is pointless even asking them. You will need to look up the pll info and reverse engineer it if you can. Nice radios though. Good luck. Thanks gents, and for the PM Damien. A copy of the service manual has now been sent over from Thailand. Your help is much appreciated.

Re: Park Air PAE 5100 Frequency Selection
If it helps anyone in the future, the answer to my original question for 12.5kHz-spaced sets is...
(a) Divide (Operational receive frequency + 21.4 MHz) by 12.5 kHz (b) Convert the result of (a) into a Hexadecimal code. (c) Subtract the result of (b) from Hexadecimal code FFFFF. (d) Enter the result of (c) into the Hexadecimal switches 3 to 7 on the synthesiser. The synth, RF converter and IF may then need realigning following a freq change. Martin |
