Metal Epoxy
Hi all,
Just repaired a broken stud on the front panel of my AR-88 using this stuff :- http://cpc.farnell.com/evo-stik/8085...tt=metal+epoxy Instructions say leave for 10 minutes before handling once applied, after half an hour the bond is strong enough to withstand picking the whole thing up from the repaired stud. Hope this is of use to someone. Cheers, Kev |

Re: Metal Epoxy
Many people swear by something called J B Weld. A metal loaded epoxy paste that does what it says on the tin.

Re: Metal Epoxy
The Aluminium-loaded JB Weld is good stuff too - I've used it to rebuild the control-harness terminal box on an antenna-rotator.
The JB Weld is quite good enough to be drilled/tapped and take screws once it's fully hardened. |

Re: Metal Epoxy
I use epoxy sealant, available in dual-component lump form, to rebuild broken moulded parts. It's also referred to as epoxy putty and branded as 'M-Seal', 'Araseal' etc. Available in quick-setting (1 hour) versions too. Can be cut, filed and polished to shape.
Regards, Nandu.

Re: Metal Epoxy
Belzona 111 is another similar product, again it is expensive for some jobs but may save £1000s in industry. I've used it and very pleased with it. And I believe it is made in the UK.
