Roberts RM33
Hi all, could any one advise what the correct value display bulb is fitted to the Roberts RM33 please. Some one has swapped mine out and its really dim.
If anyone would like to sell me one that would be great too. (Graham, thought I would try the nice people on here too) Many thanks. Brett. |

"The dial lamp bulb should, according to the service information, be a 6.5V 0.3A type. However, this is run at full voltage and does not enjoy a long life. After replacing two such bulbs in my set within a year, I fitted a 12V 2.2W type instead. This gives ample illumination for the scale, and has so far lasted over five years." |

Re: roberts RM33
I could not find a specification for the bulb in the Roberts service info, only a 6 volt tap on the transformer.
From the info in the link that Paul posted I would try that suggestion.

Re: roberts RM33
Thanks guys, I’ve got inside now and I am getting 5.8v across the bulb. The bulb fitted is a 12v but says 0.1 amp rather than watt.
I’m thinking I might try and get one 6v and one of the 12v 2.2w and see where that take me . Many thanks |

Re: Roberts RM33
I have now ordered a 6.5v and a 12v . I have also found a 9v too. I figure if 6.5 burns out quick and 12v ( which is what’s fitted now) is still to dim( no sure how good my bulb is, i presume they either work or they don’t) then the 9v should be a good compromise.
Thanks for your help |

Re: roberts RM33
That's 1.2W. A 12V 2.2W one will give a bit more light at 6V than that one will.
