Installing a inexpensive New Magic eye Valve
Magic eye valves have become very expensive when new and used ones usually are not very bright. Antique Electronic Supply can supply new 1695 valves at a seasonable price of $14.95. Details for wiring them into an existing radio can be found at http://antiqueradio.org/magiceye.htm

Re: Installing a inexpensive New Magic eye Valve
Not many 1629s over here
Quite a few people have converted EM34s to Y63s or their military equivalents, which seem to be available relatively cheaply. The display is different but at least you get that green glow. Best regards, Paul |

Re: Installing a inexpensive New Magic eye Valve
Only downside of AES is that orders can get hit by Customs. Can add a nasty amount once they do Duty, Vat and then Parcel Force add on a fiver for "Handling Charges".
