Crewe to Oxford area - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

Could anyone collect the tuners offered in this thread and bring them to Oxford or thereabouts? I live in the south of Oxford city itself but would be happy to collect from anywhere in a 30 mile radius, or I could meet up on the M40 or A34 if someone is just passing through.

Just bumping this.

Crewe isn't far from the Sandbach or Stoke North M6 junctions if anybody is coming down from further north.

I'll be in the peak district about 40miles away last full week in April. Crewe heritage centre sounds like a possible outing......

And I know exactly where you live

Should be able to get them to the Heritage Centre, my brother is a volunteer there. Check the website to make sure it's open if you are going (usually weekends and sometimes weekdays for special events).

That might be a solution. I would be happy to drive out to Witney to collect them once they get there.

Beware though Chris, the E-W routes aren't too good around there, and a 40m journey may turn out to be quite a haul. Depending on where you are in the Peak District, the best route to Crewe is probably via Leek and Stoke, and the roads are busy and slow. Leek is a nice town to visit in its own right though.

I should explain that I originally come from Stoke, and used to visit my parents there every month or two until they died a few years ago. Sadly I now have no reason to visit that part of the world or I would collect the tuners myself.

David- I should be holidaying in the Peak District next week. I've not been prodded by Paul yet so your bump will do as a reminder. I plan to visit the Crewe heritage centre at some point so Sunday, Monday or Thursday are possible pickup days. I've no particular preference. I gather it could be picked up from there? or I could just call round to yours if that's easier on my way back to the cottage.
