Have the above recuperating in my greenhouse. The veneered case is in poor condition. Not sure if anything works but I thought it might be useful to for spares. Bristol area.

Doesn't look too bad, but I don't want to add it to my huge list!
As I'm in Bristol, I may be able to pick it up for someone else and then deliver it to NCVF or RWB?

Yes it's a PYE MM I have seen them in far worse condition

I am sure this will get rescued

Hi , yes a nice set. Mine worked well when restored. Strangely most caps were good, but the resistors were way off.

The monkey metal tuning cap frame was cracking but I managed to stabilise it with superglue.

That's a good ball park figure

I bought a very similar one for £50 a few years ago from a street market, but its cabinet was in far better condition than yours with no delamination etc, and if anything, vintage radio prices have dropped since then: https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=97968

I thought that was a good price, but it was there for weeks before I succumbed and bought it (while my wife was at work!), so the market for these is obviously small.

Well done for saving it, too many people would have just dumped it. Where did it come from?

I got my first sunrise a 25C in 1984 it cost me about £80 but it was in prestine condition, last one I bought was another MM from crackle they were well over £100 until the last 10 years or so.

I need a model O and a model S to have the complete set

The last one was the M78F (minus clouds). The most expensive Sunrise these days.

That is the post war portable.

What does 'MM' mean?

It's PYE's model number for this set.

There was a model Q, P, S, PAC B4D, O, AC4D, G etc

PYE model numbers can be a bit odd MM might have been Mains model M ?
