Default HMV 157 Restoration required

Afternoon all

I’m looking for someone in the Leicestershire area who can restore a HMV 157 for me. It winds but the turntable turns too slowly to play. The long hinge to the lid is broken and needs replacement. Otherwise it’s in good but dirty condition. Any advice appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I can overhaul the motor for you, but a replacement hinge could take some time to find. They do turn up, it's just a case of waiting. I'm in Whittlesey near Peterborough, so you could either bring the whole thing, or just the motor board and motor. I have a 157 I have just restored so you can see what great gramophones they are when properly overhauled. Let me know if I can help.

Barry

Hi and welcome! I'm in Whittlesey near Peterborough, if that's any good? I've just restored a 157 completely.
