Are those probes with the overall shroud at the meter end period correct for an AVO 7?

In an episode of the Prisoner recently I spotted this scope, see pic, but can't find a lot about them. Anyone familiar with them at all? This one looks a bit HP ish but others that have come up look like Tek copies..
Andy.

If advertisements count, the current one exhorting people to use actual shops for shopping starts with a glimpse of the Sony radio that was de rigueur when I was working in Saudi Arabia. Mine still works and always accompanies me when holidaying.

Not the first vintage radio spotted on Coronation Street but I don’t think this one has been posted before, apologies if it has.
Whilst not really watching (honest) I caught a glimpse of a radio so took a screen shot from ITV hub, it’s an Alba and presumably a 472. John |

From the sci-fi series Sanctuary starring Amanda Tapping (Stargate). I see an AR88, a SX28, above that a HRO and far right is a National NC100 series.

Unsurprisingly also a good film for those of us who are also steam buffs. Everything in it looks to me like ancient history but in reality the film is just... one year older than I am. ![]() |

I've just finished the film version of Quatermass & The Pit which I recorded off Talking Pictures TV.
This features a very early Bush colour TV in a pub & some ATV OB cameras & other equipment.

In the original "The Quatermass Experiment" there are no less than three R1155 receivers and three T1154 transmitters dressing the space-ship interior.
We saw a lot of wobbly cardboard sets on TV at the time, but this clearly wasn't one of them.

The BTF "Terminus" film shows a scene where PA announcements are being spoken.
On the desk is a free standing Elliott audio voltmeter used to monitor output. |

The Talking pictures channel is great for spotting old equipment .Lots of mainly Bush tellies and DECCA radiograms.record players and radios als well as other domestic apps .Vacuum cleaners washers ect.Its funny when watching some of these old programmes how all this equipment looks lovingly familiar even though its long gone

I was given the Yes Minister box set for Christmas.
Some episodes have a TV in the office, as well as some scenes where Jim Hacker is being interviewed on TV, complete with studio equipment in shot. I'll try to get some screen shots when I can.

Here's a screenshot from the Yes Minister episode Big Brother.
This set looks early - mid 1970s, I guess Sir Humphrey has departmental finances on a tight budget! I think the same set is used in a few different episodes.

In an episode of Poirot a couple of nights ago there was a brief shot of the villain unplugging a light bulb. It was very brief, but I am pretty sure it was a genuine pre-war bulb where the brass bayonet cap is longer than the modern ones, having a wider extension about twice as wide as the bayonet itself, into which the bottom of the glass bulb is seated.

Early on in the first episode of the new CH4 series 'Traitors' set just after the war, a character turns on a wireless which may or may not be appropriate for the time: But it comes on instantly.

Here is a screenshot of the radio in episode one of Traitors. Strangely enough it's an Australian model. A Kriesler 11-20 from 1948/49.

For those with Netflix there is a Japanese animation about a television. There’s no dialogue.
“In the 1980s, a recently discarded television set from the 1960s refuses to accept its fate and tries to break out of the junkyard.” The title is: Golden Time David |
