I've heard of the title but not seen it.
In another series someone finds a time capsule with a Sonv pocket radio inside, & asked if that's what Sony used to be called. It's common for products in Japanse media to have the brand names changed slightly.

On Saturday evening I was watching the '6.5 special' film via a recently acquired Blu-Ray Disc, and I'm sure that in at least one scene featuring Diane Todd as 'Anne', there was an Ever Ready Sky King portable radio prominently visible. In 1958, when the film was both made and set, we had the similar Sky Queen. Bulky, heavy things to carry around, but transistor portables were new and expensive items back then!

Watching an episode (Flight to Jawani) of 'It ain't half hot mum', and one scene shows a control tower communicating with a flying fortress. As below. I've no idea what the equipment shown is.

Interesting first episode of this 6-part period drama tonight. Set in the mid 1950s, we soon learn the protagonist (Toby Stephens) owns an electronics factory, we see stacks of radios around and lots of test gear, he brings home his first TV, there's a bedroom Bush, lots to spot and no doubt more to come.

In the trailer there's a chap in a toilet cubicle fumbling with a mini reel-to-reel recorder, much like the rim-drive models of the early '60s. I wonder if anyone can identify the model. It's probably an anachronism but acceptable in the context.

The Thread title should be altered. According to my copy of Radio Times 'Summer of Rockets' was on BBC2(not BBC1) '9PM last night. I missed it, too! (watching another program at the time, and my DVR/VCR is in need of TLC!)

At about 12 minutes into 'Summer of Rockets' Pt3, we see a RACAL RA17 and a Marconi TF995 (I think) on the racks.

That may be a Solartron regulated PSU on the shelf above the RA17

I started a Summer of Rockets thread on 2/6/19 just to ID a couple of items in P1 and recommend the drama itself. I also wasn't really looking for period mistakes or anachronisms! It's a great series like, for example, "Shooting The Past" [1999] also by Poliakoff . That doesn't feature electronics but it is entirely vintage/archive focused.

I don't want to start knocking "summer of rockets" as it is excellent and the period equipment is very well thought out but I was puzzled why only one wall of the assembly floor has dragons teeth sound proofing as used in anechoic rooms, the other end of the room is the equipment rack in the posted image with glass windows behind.

Dragon's teeth pyramids of electromagnetic absorber are used in RF test rooms. It looks just like acoustic absorber. A single wall might be of use for testing signals from/to directional antennae like dishes and horns.

Does anyone recognise the 1930s radio which appears in the 1956 Film "Together"

Watching "Yes Minister" (the badger one) and Mr Hacker has a Hacker Sovereign in the kitchen. Rather appropriate.

I saw that today too. Bush TV boxes, several radios and electric fires, and a scene where a lady is using an electric iron plugged into the light socket.
