Default Stunning Hand-Made Analyser

I've seen a few nicely made prototypes over the years, but this takes the biscuit for sheer craftsmanship: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRKZkEateVI

I don't recall ever seeing something as nicely made as a one-off.

(I wasn't sure which forum to put this in, so put it here as the above isn't solely relating to test gear)

Can anyone hazard a guess as to where he got the design from? Does it show the hallmarks of a magazine project? The title suggests it goes from '0-200K', and the various DIY projects I know of start at a few KHz, so the low frequency starting point is curious.

As the YT posting suggests, the analyser was made by the late OZ8RW Jørn Olav Ottosen. Stunning work, Jorn!

The YTer in the above link appears to have much of Jorn's home-brew equipment if you check his other videos.

A quick Google (translated) found this:

Jørn Olav Ottosen, OZ8RW
By WEBMASTER7 January 2022Silent Key

It is with great sadness that I have to announce that Jørn Olav Ottosen, OZ8RW has suddenly passed away on 24 October 2021. Jørn Olav grew up in Stevns with his older brother Leif, and the two boys started experimenting with radios and electronics at an early age, and Leif, as the oldest, was first licensed with the callsign OZ1LO; later Jørn Olav followed with the call sign OZ8RW. The interest in engineering naturally led to an education as an engineer, and subsequently for a number of years employment at Storno.

Due to illness, Jørn Olav had to take early retirement, and he moved to the family's house in Køng in South Zealand, where Leif also had his radio station; between the two there was a natural division of labor: Jørn Olav was the technician and Leif the operator. There were a few QSOs, however, 8RW was right at the top of the DXCC list on 6m.

In addition to taking care of the job as a technician and developer at the radio station, Jørn Olav also found time for other tasks, for 20 years he was a member of the parish council for Køng and Svinø parishes, and editor of the council's website, and he helped many elderly people in the local area when they had problems with the PCs.

OZ8RW was a skilled technician, and we were many amateurs who benefited from his great technical knowledge, which he generously shared. Our discussions, also on other topics, will be missed.

OZ8RW was a friend of his friends, I am grateful to have been one of them.

Jørn Olav was 74 years old. RIP.
