Hi to all,
Hi to Frank C. & Freya if you follow this sub-forum, A French TV collector has recently received a brand new Hedghog PSC converter. He is attempting to use it with a Decca 1000 405 line projection set. And has therefore requested the video timing duration list of proper values to program the presets for standard 625 to 405 conversion. Is there a standard setup list? I thought the converter came with a number of already programmed usual setups, but i'm probably wrong. Many Thanks! in advance for help in setting-up the converter. I'll pass on the link to this topic to the Hedghog PSC owner. Best Regards jhalphen Paris/France |

Hi Jerome
The Hedghog PSC can be programmed with default settings. The first 13 of them are 405 line output. The Menu description can be downloaded from https://www.electronics.frankcuffe.ovh/hedghog-psc At the very end it describes how to load them if they have not already been loaded. The relevant part of the description I have coped below. Default Settings When the microcontroller is programmed the presets have random settings in them. The settings can be filled in manually or a set of default settings can be loaded into them. The default settings will populate the presets with suggested settings for various line standards and channels. To load the default settings go to “PRESET NO. 20” and then scroll down to “SET NAME CHR 16”. If the right hand push-button is pressed you will be asked to confirm that you want to load the default settings by pressing the left push-button. The default setting will then load Hope that helps Frank

Hi to all,
Hi Frank C. Thanks! for the reply, and the procedure to load the presets. Is there a description of the 20 preset setup values somewhere, i've read the PSC pdf manual several times and didn't see any. Maybe in a previous Hedghog model... Best Regards jhalphen Paris/France |

They are all programmed to the default settings, then checked with all the standards. So on power up it would be 405 line channel 1.

Hi Jerome
The converter will detect whether the input is 625 or 525 lines and adjust accordantly. When the default values are loaded the bottom line of the display gives a brief description of the output standard and what channel the modulator is set to. This description can be changed by the user further down the menu. The examples in the photo below are from top to bottom Preset No. 6 405 lines Channel 6 Preset No. 14 625 lines Channel 26 Preset No. 16 819 lines Channel F2 To see the parameters that each preset is set to simply scroll through the menu and read them off. The default settings are just suggested values and meant as a starting point to get it up and running quickly for the user. Frank

Hi to all,
Hi Frank C. Many Thanks! for the completeness of your explanations. I've translated & posted on the French forum for the benefit of the chap who asked the questions. Impressed to learn that there are 20x PSCs in France, the TV hobby is alive! Best Regards jhalphen Paris/France |
