Have you seen the manuals linked on this TekWiki site.

http://w140.com/tekwiki/wiki/575

The first one linked (575 and 175 manual) seens to have useful operating instructions.

There is also Semiconductor Device Measurements by John Mulvey on David DiGicomo's site.

There is even a tempting article on ebay if you wish to expand your curve tracer collection

I've used the later generation Tek transistor curve tracers over the years and found their front panels pretty self-explanatory.

The most difficult areas to understand are the load resistors and the device power dissipation limiter. Yours seems to be working as it is limiting the voltage of the higher collector current traces.

I am fairly certain I have an original of the 175/575 manual somewhere.
I was lucky buying a later one (577?) VERY cheap about 30 years ago, and £10 at a rally got me the IC testing panel for it, rather than just transistors/diodes. When I sold my little business in 1989, I tried Carstons and got a £1700 offer, which I accepted quickly. The best and ONLY real deal I ever made.
Tek used to sell "Semiconductor Device Measurements". I have a first Edn., 4th printing carrying part number 062-1009-00.
Maybe you can still get a copy. It covers Bipolars, UJTs,Thyristors, signal and power diodes,Zeners, Tunnel and Back diodes, with the final 20 pages covering symbols and definitions.
Les.
